Abstract

In this paper a hierarchical decomposition and aggregationn technique is described which is oriented at the ISO Basic ReferenceModel. In particular, connection-oriented and connectionless data transmission are compared to each other quantitatively. The modelling and performance evaluation technique is exemplified forthe example of a LAN.
