Abstract

This work discusses network planning methods focusing on multi-layer networks with electrical and optical paths. Following to the presentation of some basic aspects, a mult-layer planning model is proposed which comprises traffic and network element modelling. Finally, our approach to transform this model into a planning process and first rseults which show the benefits and limitations due to the problem complexity of our approach are given.
