Abstract
|
A NEW CSMA-CD-DR PROTOCOL (CARRIER-SENSED-MULTI-ACCESS WITH COLLISION DETECTION AND DETERMINISTIC RETRANSMISSION) FOR A DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM WITH N STATIONS AND ONE COMMON CHANNEL IS DESCRIBED. IN THE SILENT STATE, THE CHANNEL IS OPERATED IN THE CONTENTIONMODE. THE CHANNEL ARBITRATION AFTER A COMPLETED TRANSMISSION ISRESOLVED BY STAGGERED DELAYS; THESE DELAYS ARE DYNAMICALLY CHANGED FOR EACH STATION UPON THE BROADCASTED ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.
